Dynamic quantization of uncertain linear networked control systems

چکیده
This paper is concerned with the stability analysis of networked control systems with dynamic quantization, variable sampling intervals and communication delays. A time-triggered zooming algorithm for the dynamic quantization at the sensor side is proposed that leads to an exponentially stable closed-loop system. The algorithm includes proper initialization of the zoomparameter.More precisely, given a bound on the state initial conditions and the values of the quantizer range and error, we derive conditions for finding the initial value of the zoom parameter, starting fromwhich the exponential stability is guaranteed by using ‘‘zooming-in’’ only. Polytopic type uncertainties in the system model can be easily included in the analysis. The efficiency of themethod is illustrated on an example of an uncertain cart–pendulum system. © 2015 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Modelling and Compensation of uncertain time-delays in networked control systems with plant uncertainty using an Improved RMPC Method
Control systems with digital communication between sensors, controllers and actuators are called as Networked Control Systems (NCSs). In general, NCSs encounter with some problems such as packet dropouts and network induced delays. When plant uncertainty is added to the aforementioned problems, the design of the robust controller that is able to guarantee the stability, becomes more complex. In...
متن کاملDevelopment of RMPC Algorithm for Compensation of Uncertain Time-Delay and Disturbance in NCS
In this paper, a synthesis method based on robust model predictive control is developed for compensation of uncertain time-delays in networked control systems with bounded disturbance. The proposed method uses linear matrix inequalities and uncertainty polytope to model uncertain time-delays and system disturbances. The continuous system with time-delay is discretized using uncertainty po...
متن کاملRobust Regulation of Polytopic Uncertain Linear Hybrid Systems with Networked Control System Applications
In this chapter, a class of discrete time uncertain linear hybrid systems, affected by both parameter variations and exterior disturbances, is considered. The main question is whether there exists a controller such that the closed loop system exhibits desired behavior under dynamic uncertainty and exterior disturbances. The notion of attainability is introduced to refer to the specified behavio...
متن کاملDesigninga Neuro-Sliding Mode Controller for Networked Control Systems with Packet Dropout
This paper addresses control design in networked control system by considering stochastic packet dropouts in the forward path of the control loop. The packet dropouts are modelled by mutually independent stochastic variables satisfying Bernoulli binary distribution. A sliding mode controller is utilized to overcome the adverse influences of stochastic packet dropouts in networked control system...
متن کاملQuantization in Model Based Networked Control Systems
Model-Based Networked Control Systems (MB-NCS) use a model of the plant to compensate for the lack of information between transmission times. This results in a significant reduction of the bandwidth used for stabilizing the control system. Previously published stability results for MB-NCS assume no quantization error. In this paper quantization is introduced for MBNCS. Sufficient stability cond...
